When we are looking for a quick way to shed those excess pounds, physical exercise is one of the most effective methods to achieve success. The reason it is so effective is because calories are burned through physical activity, which also triggers our body to metabolize stored fat.
This means the more calories we burn, the more fat we will burn. The ideal form of exercise for doing this is aerobic exercise, the type that increases our heart rate. Excellent examples of aerobic exercise are: jogging, brisk walking, cycling, swimming, tennis or squash, dancing, and various other sporting activities.
Building lean muscle is also a quick way to lose weight and tone our body, because the stronger leaner muscle we have, the more calories we will burn even when we are not actively exercising. Resistance training such as weight lifting will enable us to built lean muscle safely, while burning excess stored fat.
If we combine these two forms of exercise into a comprehensive weekly workout regime, they will provide an excellent fat burning strategy to help us to lose weight consistently and easily.
However, if we are just beginning, or have not participated in an exercise programme for some time, we need to begin at a pace which is comfortably acceptable, rather than embarking on an intense gruelling workout before our body is physically ready to cope with it. Our aim is to burn fat, but we do not want to cause ourselves any form of strain or injury in the process.
It may be advisable to consult a doctor concerning any exercise programme we are considering starting, and he or she may be able to advise us on the best way to work out safely. Another option is to consult a personal trainer to create a specific workout regime that may help us to achieve our weight loss goals quicker than we would be able to manage working on our own.
Other than exercise, another quick way to promote weight loss is to make adjustments to our dietary habits. If we are guilty of eating lots of fast and junk food, drink sweet beverages or alcoholic drinks, we will be limiting our progress and success rate even if we religiously maintain our daily workout routine.
A quick, healthy, effective weight loss programme includes drinking plenty of water and eating nutritious, low-calorie foods, and maintain a regular exercise programme which combined help promote a feeling of good health and well-being as well as excellent weight loss prospects.
